Women Pioneers of Egyptian Art: An Illustrated Approach is an illustrated book that attempts to introduce the layman to pioneering women artists – such as Khadija Riyad, Sawsan Amer, and Zeinab Abduh – who enriched the Egyptian modern arts movement in the early 20thC. It provides a brief excerpt on their lives and artistic styles, and includes illustrations of some of their paintings. The book aims to show how these women contributed to advancing the Egyptian artistic scene and how they influenced contemporary Egyptian women artists.
