Who is she in Egypt? Launching Event

Cairo 15th of September 2010, the Women and Memory Forum held a launch event to announce the inauguration of its new database entitled,  Who is She in Egypt? The event took place at the Supreme Council for Culture at the Opera House in Zamalek.


Who is She in Egypt? is a database of distinguished contemporary Egyptian women experts.  It provides Arabic and English profiles on outstanding Egyptian Women in their particular fields. The database aims at highlighting as well as making available information about women's expertise in diverse professions. It is designed to be a reference to organizations, researchers, activists, media practitioners and various users. 


In 2010, the Women and Memory Forum launched Who is She in Egypt? based on the Danish Database of Female Experts that was established by the DanishCenter for Information on Gender, Equality and Ethnicity (KVINFO) in 1995. Similar databases were established in Jordan and in Lebanon.
