Women and Urban Economy in Islamic Egypt
Did women play an active role in the economy in Islamic Egypt? Did women of diverse economic status and class participate in the economy of the Islamic city or were they isolated from the events of everyday economic life? This research paper attempts to answer these questions in order to trace the changes that have occurred since Islamic Egypt and to highlight the extent of the exposure of women to the work field across various ages.
